Rye, NY Rye, NY Full-time Full-time $18 - $22 an hour $18 - $22 an hour 21 hours ago 21 hours ago 21 hours ago UG2 is looking for a Handyperson with a strong work ethic and a good overall knowledge and ability of multiple trades for general maintenance and repairs.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills for interaction with requesters of work, building occupants, fellow employees and the management team.
Knowledge of the surrounding community and personal/professional connections in the industry is a plus.
The Handyperson needs to be able to complete a full repair cycle, assessing, scheduling, ordering materials and completing the required work.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working in college or campus environment.
Responsibilities and qualifications for the role include but are not limited to:
Perform basic maintenance and general repair activities.
Installation, assembly or relocation of furniture, cabinets, shelving and countertops.
Complete painting, patching or repairs to walls, flooring, and other finished surfaces in residential and commercial buildings Install, trouble shoot and/ or repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and faucets.
Ability to read building plans and locate isolate/ shutoff valves.
Replace lightbulbs, ballasts, outlets and switches.
Understanding of electrical safety, testing methods, lock out tag out procedures and degenderizing circuits prior to working.
Minimize impact of repairs by using protection on belongings and property.
Perform cleaning activities such as sweeping, moping, wiping, dusting and removal of debris or trash.
Ability to work safely with power lifts, hardware, tools and other equipment.
Extremely organized with good communication skills.
Ability to work in a diverse environment at all levels within the organization.
Professional demeanor.
Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving and a desire to perform work with high quality standards.
Determine tools, hardware and/or equipment needed to complete a task.
Use a variety of hand and power tools without supervision.
Safely use tools and equipment Ability to understand standard operating procedures and incorporate into one's work performance.

Education/Training:
High School degree or GED equivalent.
Completion of trade related courses a plus.
Experience working a skill trade a plus.
Bilingual a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years' work experience in facility maintenance completing repairs.
